Yes, but by default, Sifter will open external links in the same window. You can change this in your settings.
Go to Settings at the top of any page in Sifter> Profile and under the Browsing Preferences section, check the box that reads "Open Links in New Tab."
Sifter handles certain file types better in a gallery-style window, so images and multiple attachments will still open in the same tab.
